Jeep's first EV is quiet luxury. Leave the doors on, enjoy the posh seats, and leave the off-roading to the Wrangler.

But more so, the Wagoneer S is so nicely executed, that you really can't tell it's an EV. Until you hit the stop-start button and start driving it. But like any other new car, I still have my specific thoughts.

On sale now, the first Wagoneers are 2024 "Launch Edition" models snazzed to a $71,995 price point inclusive of a $1795 destination charge. But buyers who don't like Bright White paint with a black roof will be dinged an additional $595 for any of the other five colors.

The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S Launch Edition is a cleanly styled, convincingly upscale, and competitively equipped electric SUV. My main complaints are its high price, hard-to-keep-clean screens, and dissatisfying steering. In nearly all other respects, this is a premium EV worth considering.

We’ll spare you a chronology of Jeep’s electrification misadventures; suffice it to say that the Wagoneer S was supposed to arrive last year, along with the Jeep Recon EV, giving the brand two all-electric offerings in the U.

Jeep wants you to take a chance on its first EV, with discounts on the Wagoneer S, ranging from a few bucks to well over 10 grand at some dealers.
