When the Pittsburgh Steelers signed eight-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson last March, just four days after he was released by the Broncos following two frustrating seasons in Denver, they had to know that they were not getting the best version of the 12-year veteran.

Two new quarterbacks were added to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday as replacements. Both Drake Maye and Russell Wilson are headed to the Pro Bowl. They will be replacing Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who won’t be making the trip to Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Russell Wilson, AKA ‘Mr. Unlimited,’ is on his way to the 2025 Pro Bowl Games. Wilson will replace Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen, who pulled out of the contest with a wrist injury. Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson also withdrew from the Pro Bowl Games, with New England Patriots rookie QB Drake Maye replacing him.

Pittsburgh Steelers fans aren't impressed with quarterback Russell Wilson's 10th Pro Bowl appearance. For almost two months, Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson was back.

On Tuesday, about 15 minutes after Patriots rookie Drake Maye had been named as replacement for Lamar Jackson in the 2025 Pro Bowl Games, the Steelers announced that Wilson was named a replacement for Josh Allen. Both Jackson and Allen cited injuries as reasons for missing the festivities.

Russell Wilson has a chance to turn the 2025 Pro Bowl Games into his own audition, much like Derek Carr did before landing with the Saints.

With the Raiders hiring former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and with former Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson becoming a free agent and with the Raiders clearly needing an upgrade at quarterback, there are obvious dots to connect between Carroll and Wilson.
